The main event is up next, as reigning UFC middleweight champion Anderson "The Spider" Silva ventures into the light heavyweight division to fight James "The Sandman" Irvin.
Silva told me this week that he thinks this fight is "gonna be great." I sure hope he's right.
Round 1: Silva throws some low kicks. Irvin throws one to the head and misses. Irvin throws another kick. Silva catches his leg, levels him with a straight right to the chin, and Irvin crumbles to the ground. Silva smashes him with a series of rights on the ground, and Irvin is completely out. Well, that was quick.
Winner: Anderson Silva defeats James Irvin via KO due to strikes at 1:01 of Round 1.
This guy is downright scary. He just makes it look so easy.
Irvin has a gigantic gash under his right eye. It's about a .8 on the Marvin Eastman scale.

Fight Night 14 live results: Silva vs. IrvinAbsolutely dominating. I am not sure if any 205 lbers can hang with him either. I think within the year he could hold both belts. Is heavyweight next? |

Fight Night 14 live results: Silva vs. IrvinSilva looked very natural and comfortable at 205. Based on on how Vera fought tonight, Silva could walk all over him. The Spider is one bad ass. |
