Fight Night 14 live results: Velasquez v. O'Brien

Posted on: July 19, 2008 10:01 pm
Edited on: July 19, 2008 10:09 pm

Here come the big boys: Cain Velasquez vs. Jake O'Brien.

Round 1: They grapple to start. Velsaquez uses a whizzer to take O'Brien down. Velasquez takes side control, traps the arm with his legs, and begins hammering O'Brien in the face with right hands. O'Brien moves a lot to try and escape but just can't get away. He eats what seems like 40 unanswered punches to the head while he continues trying to move into a position to escape. Finally, the fight is stopped.

Winner: Cain Velasquez defeats Jake O'Brien via TKO due to strikes at 2:02 of Round 1. Seriously impressive win for Velasquez.
